Air Force ROTC Physical Fitness Test (PFT) The PFT is administered every semester. All contract cadets must pass the PFT.
The PFT is comprised of 4 events, which must be performed on the same day in this order (All events must be completed):
Abdominal Circumference Assessment
Sit-ups
Push-ups
1.5 mile run
Applicant must complete the test IAW with the following instruction: AFI 36-2905
AFROTC PFT Procedures
All applicants and selectees, applying or selected to enter into AFROTC will have to meet the Minimum PFT Standards to be considered eligible to meet the board and before gaining release to start school.
A score of 75 is the overall minimum passing score (this is not waiverable). However, applicants will need to score higher than the minimums to be more competitive.
The PFT is taken every semester while enrolled in AFROTC.
For airmen applying for one of the Enlisted Commissioning Program through Air Force ROTC, they must include a copy of the Air Force ROTC Physical Fitness Test Letter of Certification with their application. Those selected for a commissioning program will have to repeat the PFT standards and achieve a passing score within 90 days of class start date. Enlisted Commissioning Program applicants must have the test administered by a certified unit Physical Training Leader (PTL).
