AFJROTC Instructor Duty Application Process and Notes
Thank you for interest in becoming an AFJROTC instructor! Although retired, AFJROTC instructors continue to wear the uniform and represent the Air Force in the performance of their duties. As such, instructors are required to maintain certain standards of conduct, performance, uniform wear, weight and body fat standards, and grooming standards to maintain their certification to teach the AFJROTC curriculum. Please review the following links for more information regarding AFJROTC instructor requirements.
NOTICE TO ALL NCOS: Effective 1 October 2011, a minimum of an Associates degree (includes CCAF degree) is required for submission of an instructor application. NCO applications received on or after 1 Oct 11 without an Associates degree will not be accepted.

Applications are screened for approval based on minimum criteria outlined in Title 10, USC, Section 2033, AFJROTC requirements, the member's Air Force record, and high standards of military bearing, moral character and appearance.
Each approved application is scored based on the applicant's individual qualifications to include highest military grade held; command/command chief experience; all civilian education; all military education, military and civilian teaching experience; experience working with youth and results of an instructor application interview conducted by an AFJROTC officer instructor.
